Huge aroma of candied plum and violet. It’s very clean and well refined on the palate. It has a vibrant yet creamy body with notes of black currant and blackberry, and pleasant touch of French oak. Finishing off with a beautifully silky tannin and a spice that lingers well past a minute.

WINEMAKING TECHNIQUES
2015 allowed for plenty of hang time with the sun shining in California all year long. Picking at peak maturity when the acids became perfectly balanced with the sugar content and made for an easy ferment that lasted a nice two weeks in tank. Keeping this wine on the skins for this time allowed us to extract plenty of color and structure which will give this wine plenty of age ability. After fermentation was complete we put this wine into barrels that were composed of 50% new oak that adds a nice spice component.
VINTAGE NOTES
The 2015 saw an early bud break due to a mild winter, and even though the crop yields were lower across the region, the quality of the grape was still high. Overall the clusters were smaller and more space in the vineyard that the previous three vintages. The growing season also ended unusually early; about ten days earlier than the average.
FRUIT SOURCE: LOVE VINEYARD
Situated in the northern part of Russian River Valley off of Westside Rd, sits a little vineyard next to a red barn. It sits on a hillside that faces the east which allows these grapes to mature at a gentle pace to help retain all the beauty and fruit character of Russian River while incorporating a earth tone complexity that creates a wine that keeps evolving in your glass.
