Santa Lucia Highlands, nestled within the picturesque landscape of Monterey County, is a petite yet formidable winegrowing region known for its exceptional cultivation of California's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The legacy of generations engaged in family farming and a strong emphasis on sustainability have solidified growers and vineyards as esteemed contributors to California's illustrious community of appellation and single-vineyard producers, particularly in the realm of cool-climate wine varieties.
2020 Soberanes Chardonnay - This Chardonnay is a delicate yet rich representation of the Santa Lucia Highlands. With notes of nectarine, apricot, melon, spicy oak, and floral tones, the fragrance is captivating. On the palate, hints of pear, pineapple, nutmeg, and lemon meringue are present, culminating in soft brioche tones to finish. This wine has excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve for the next 5-7 years.
2019 Highlands Ranch Chardonnay - This wine offers a rich texture that coats the mouth, as it opens to a beautiful melody of fruit tones and soft floral expressions. Aromas are of hazelnut, toffee, lemon meringue, and rose petals. The wine's soft silky mouthfeel and caramel touched finish are complemented by flavors of passionfruit, lemon bar, and apple pie. The fruit is enhanced by balanced acidity on a refreshing finish.
2019 Lemoravo Pinot Noir - The 2019 Lemoravo Vineyard Pinot is bold but rustic, the nose is overwhelming with dark fruit tones and an elegant oak profile. The palate has plenty of character from raspberry pie and cherry cobbler and earth tones and forest floor become apparent after a few swirls. Opening up nicely with a little time it shows a beautiful bouquet of cherry blossoms and lavender with fruit tones of plum and blackberry.
