WINEMAKER NOTES

WINEMAKER NOTES 2017 Suacci Vineyard Pinot Noir does not lack complexity. The rich aromas of cherry, dark fruit tones, cedar box, dried rose petals and raspberry jam dance in your glass with each swirl before you unfold the wine as it reveals each layer of blackberry, black currant, clove, tobacco and strawberry jam on the palate. The wine goes on forever on the finish and keeps revealing more layers as it opens up with time.

WINEMAKER NOTES The cool climate of Manchester brings out lots of the bright red fruits and engulfs your nose with red and black cherries, raspberry jam, with hints of cinnamon, clove, earth tones and vanillin from the oak. This wine retains a very well balanced acidity level that also brings out delicious red fruit tones such as tart cherries and cranberries, raspberry jam, strawberry with hints of herb tones integrated. Medium to full bodied with supple tannins and long finish reminds us of why we love this vineyard.

WINEMAKER NOTES A much-needed wet winter helped replenish moisture into the soils and allowed the vines to take off and create full canopies which means more photosynthesis. Suacci vineyard sits on rolling hills with deep root structure and absorbs plenty of earth character. On the nose you will find black tea, cedar, forest characters up front and rich cherry cola, and blackberry cobbler notes. The palate brings dark black fruit tones, Asian spice, white pepper and cherry pie flavors that linger for a long silky finish. This wine will age beautifully for years to come.

WINEMAKER NOTES Northern Russian River was blessed with great sun exposure and cool mornings in 2018. Slow sugar accumulations helped lead to ripe fruit, full of complexity and vibrant flavors. On the nose you’ll get subtle notes of clove, incense and allspice, black fruits and cherry pie. This wine is ripe, wild and mysterious. The palate of black raspberry, dried rose petals, and savory spices lead to a long, dry finish with a rustic twist. The long-lasting finish will keep you coming back for more.

But don’t let the description fool you, this wine doesn’t lack structure, medium to full bodied and a long finish help remind you that we were blessed with plenty of sunshine over the last few years.

WINE MAKER NOTES 2019 Lemoravo Vineyard Pinot Noir is bold, but rustic. Deep color and flavors are apparent from the get-go. The glass is overwhelming on the nose with dark fruit tones and elegant oak profile. The palate has plenty of character from raspberry pie and cherry cobbler at first sip. Softer nuances of earth tones and forest floor become apparent after a few swirls. This wine opens up nicely with a little time showcasing a beautiful bouquet of cherry blossoms, lavender with tones of plum and blackberry.

WINEMAKER NOTES Plenty of moisture in the soil from a wet winter helped feed the vines with plenty of nutrients that made this wine showcase all that southern Russian River has to offer. The nose is filled with forest floor, rose petals, dried cherry, boysenberry, cherry cola, and fig. The structure of this wine is medium to full bodied and develops in the glass with each swirl. Bright cherry tones in the front lead way to rich jam tones on the back. The long lasting finish of vanilla and Christmas spice, complement the bright fruits and create a complex palate that is ever changing.

WINEMAKER NOTES 2018 proved to be a great growing season in California, most would call ideal. Cooler temperatures and moderate weather lead to a long growing season, allowing grapes to ripen smoothly. High on the hilltops in Rockpile sits JD Ranch. Well above the fog line, this vineyard soaked in all the sunshine throughout the year. In return we found ourselves with concentrated fruit flavors of boysenberry, blackberry, cherry pie, and cassis with hints of butter shortbread cookies on the nose. The deep root structure of the vines helped balance out the palate with earth tones behind raspberry jam, maraschino cherry, baking spices, sweet dark cocoa and cedar plank on the finish. This wine has structure and is full bodied, but the subtle nuances on the finish bring plenty of complexity.

WINEMAKER NOTES 2019 provided a nice drink of water to the vines early in the year, followed by lots and lots of sunshine. Early budbreak and late bloom in the vineyard lead to large canopies that helped protect the fruit in an area known for getting ample amounts of sunshine. High on the hilltops in Rockpile sits JD Ranch. Well above the fog line, this vineyard soaked in all the sunshine throughout the year. In return we found ourselves with concentrated fruit flavors of dried cranberry, plum, black cherry, and delicate oak tones on the nose. The palate brings forward all sorts of rich fruit tones. Plum jam, cherry cola, cranberry, rhubarb pie, and a solid blackberry finish. This wine will age beautifully and develop more floral tones with time.

WINEMAKER NOTES 2019 Bailarin Blanc is a refreshing sipper that has enough structure to pair perfectly with seafood and pasta dishes. This wine illustrates the beauty of Sonoma County with plenty of citrus tones up front and tropical flavors in the background. The nose enchants you with lemon peel, pineapple, tropical kiwi and lime, toasted almonds, orange blossoms, lemon meringue, all coming together to build a beautiful bouquet. While on the palate, Meyer lemon and citrus tones, tangerine, mango, guava, freshly shaved nutmeg, starfruit, and ripe melon. Clean and balanced acidity this wine will be sure to be a crowd pleaser on warmer afternoons. 

WINEMAKER NOTES 2020 Sauvignon Blanc brings lots of fresh spring tones on the nose such as fresh cut hay, gooseberry, lemon and melon. Citrus tones, guava, lemon rind, starfruit, and lemon meringue come through on the palate. This wine is clean, refreshing and perfect for those spring and summer backyard BBQs. Pairs perfectly with fresh chuck oysters or white fish dishes.    

WINEMAKER NOTES The nose of this Russian River Valley chardonnay blend of the Hopkins Ranch and Willowside Vineyard jumps out of the glass showing strong notes of vanilla, toasted oak with tropical notes of pineapple, kiwi and stone fruits.  Once on the palate, white nectarine dances on the tongue with background notes of green apple and creamy oak with nice bright acidity and subtle nuances of baked peaches.  This wine finishes with a green apple crispness, beautiful notes of creamy toasted oak and an acidity screaming to be paired with food.

​​WINEMAKER NOTES With the cool climate in Manchester, we accumulate high levels ofacidity that remain in the finished product. The balance between the round oak characters and bright fruit flavors give a unique experience commonly found in Burgundy. With ripe peach, almond butter, hazelnut, on the nose. Mango, vanilla bean, honey crisp apple, starfruit, lemon slice and nutmeg on the palate. This wine is sure to go well with summer months and served chilled. This wine develops and opens up in glass with a little air and expresses a beautiful sense of terroir.

WINEMAKER NOTES 2019 SLH Chardonnay is like sunshine in a bottle. Rich with plenty of texture that coats the mouth, this wine opens up to a beautiful melody of fruit tones with softer floral expressions on the backside. Aromas of hazelnut, toffee, lemon meringue and rose petals. Soft, silky mouthfeel, well balanced with a rich caramel finish. Palate of passionfruit, lemon bar, and apple pie. This wine pairs well with grilled salmon and fresh vegetables sauteed in butter.

WINEMAKER NOTES 2021 Rose is made from 100% Pinot Noir. Upon opening, your nose will be engulfed with floral components of dried rose petals and cherry blossoms. It will open up to fruit tones of raspberry jam and orange peel. The palate is rich from start to finish with characters of apricot, peach, raspberry, and strawberries. The finish lingers heavy on the strawberry and white peach. This wine will pair well with a number of different foods and will be sure to satisfy with some fresh sushi rolls.

WINEMAKER NOTES This 2019 vintage started out with plenty of moisture in the soil which helped pull up much needed nutrients to the vines. Healthy vineyards and mild temperatures throughout spring and summer helped create the optimal growing conditions for Chardonnay. Cooler temperatures allowed the chardonnay to accumulate plenty of character without generating too much sugar. The result creates a more classic old world Chardonnay that has aromas of fresh picked spring flowers, chamomile, ripe Crenshaw melon, pineapple and white truffle. The palate produces white peach, fresh melon, roasted pear, lemon custard and green tea. This wine is well balanced with a focus on location and vintage showcasing 2019 and northern Russian River.

WINEMAKER NOTES This wine brings so much complexity on the nose. Dried rose petals, black currant along with many other dark fruit tones, allspice, white pepper, and dried cherries. Diving into the glass, you will find rich raspberry jam upfront. Blackberry, pomegranate, vanilla layered into the mid palate, and caramelized cherries on the finish. This is mid to full bodied wine that doesn’t lack in character. Recommended with salmon or chicken done on a mesquite grill.

WINEMAKER NOTES 2019 Madden Merlot starts with a dark and spicy nose, dried cherries, plum, fig jam, and hints of white pepper linger. It then opens up to brighter fruit notes and rose petals as you swirl. The wine will age beautifully for years to come, but drinks wonderfully now. We recommended pairing with flank steak or grilled pork chop, accompanied with fresh greens.

WINEMAKER NOTES 2018 brought a much needed and warm welcomed wet winter bringing life to the vineyard with lush cover crops and healthy vines. The year turned out to be a great and long growing cycle and that lead to this rich and vibrant Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose you will be enchanted by aromas of blackberry pie, sweet tobacco, luxardo maraschino cherry and hints of mocha. The palate is full of mixed berries with a pleasant spice. Cassis, cherry pie, and boysenberry stand out upfront while white pepper, vanilla bean, and ground coffee linger in the background. Firm tannins suggest that this wine will just keep getting better with time.

WINEMAKER NOTES Palatial core of blackberry pie, cherry cola, tobacco leaves, and violet aromas. The fresh palate of ripe currant, pomegranate, cocoa shavings make way to subtle body, and structured tannin that culminates this melodic wine.

WINEMAKER NOTES A rich aroma of blackberry and spice jumps from the glass. This medium bodied beauty opens with bramble and cherry with more delicate notes of hibiscus and vanilla, supported with toasty oak and just the right acidity to balance. It finishes with an invigorating, mouth-warming spice.

WINEMAKER NOTES This wine jumps out of the glass with buttery sweet cherry notes that roll into sweet cranberries and hints of tobacco.  The palate is coated with flavors of dark cherry, dried cranberry and subtle oak nuances of tobacco.  There is a long lingering finish with strong notes of black current and vanilla.

WINEMAKER NOTES Our 2017 Black Knight Vineyard Pinot Noir has three great clones that all bring a different layer of complexity to this wine. On the nose you’ll find, plum, fig, and boysenberry aromas. Coming together to provide a richness to the palate are flavors of black currant, cherry, Asian five spice, bay leaf, and nutmeg. There is a long, lingering finish that shows the true power of this wine.
